“山不在高，有仙则名;水不在深，有龙则灵”，济南境内群山环抱，拥有各种山体642座。群山构筑了济南的脊梁，著名的有千佛山、五峰山、华山、鹊山等。
As an ancient Chinese saying goes: “The mountain is made famous not by its height, but the existence of deity; the river is made vigorous not by its depth but the existence of the dragon.” Framed by hilly and mountainous ridges, Jinan is home to 642 hills and mountains, many of which are well-known, such as The Thousand-Buddha (Qianfo) Mountain, The Five-Peak (Wufeng) Mountain, Mount Hua and Mount Que.
千佛山是济南的三大名胜之一，海拔285米，峰峦起伏，林木郁葱。古称历山，后因佛教盛行，随山势雕凿了数千佛像，故称千佛山。千佛山有很多名胜古迹，如兴国禅寺、千佛崖、历城院、万佛洞等，是国家级风景名胜区。
As one of the three major tourist attractions in Jinan, The Thousand-Buddha Mountain is overgrown with forests with a height of 285 meters, and peaks rising one after another. It was called Mount Li in ancient times. Later, due to the prevalence of Buddhism, thousands of Buddha statues were carved around the mountain, so it got its present name. A state-level scenic spot, the mountain has many places of interest, such as Xingguochan Temple, Thousand-Buddha Cliff， Lishanyuan Temple, and Ten Thousand Buddha Cave.
五峰山位于济南长清区，有齐鲁仙境之美誉，也是著名道教胜地。相传玉皇大帝的五个女儿路经此处，见其风景秀丽，不愿离去，于是分别化作迎仙峰、望仙峰、会仙峰、志仙峰和群仙峰，五峰山由此而得名。
The Five-peak Mountain is located in the Changqing District of Jinan. Known as the Qilu Wonderland, the attraction is also a famous Taoist holy place. Legend has it that when the five daughters of the Jade Emperor passed by the place and were attracted by its beautiful scenery, they were unwilling to leave and turned into Yingxian Peak, Wangxian Peak, Huixian Peak, Zhixian Peak and Qunxian Peak, thus comes the name of the place.
华山地处济南市区东北，海拔197米，素以奇秀著称。平地突起一峰，古称华不(fū)注山，意为此山如花跗注于水中。居“齐烟九点”诸山之首，是著名道教圣地。
Mount Hua, located in the northeast of the City, is a peak rises from the flat land, with an elevation of 197 meters. It is famous for its extraordinary scenery. In ancient times, it was named Mount Huafuzhu, meaning that the mountain is like a flower bud in the water. As the number one hill of the "Nine Solitary Hills" in Jinan, Mount Hua is regarded as a holy place of Taoism.
鹊山位于黄河北岸，与东面不远的华山遥相呼应，均属于“齐烟九点”之一。相传扁鹊曾经在山下炼丹，故名鹊山。元代著名书画家赵孟頫的《鹊华秋色图》就是描绘的鹊山和华山一带的风景。
Standing on the north bank of the Yellow River, Mount Que looks eastward to Mount Hua, both of which are part of the attraction of “Nine Solitary Hills” in Jinan. It is said to be where Bianque, a noted physician in the Spring and Autumn Period, once made alchemy, hence the name Mount Que. The painting "Autumn Colors at Mount Que and Mount Hua" by Zhao Mengfu, a famous painter and calligrapher in Yuan dynasty, presents an actual portrayal of the scenes of the Mounts.
